Why contract caterers choose CRB Cunninghams
Whether you’re looking to refine menus, modernise your food service model or increase transaction speed at the till, CRB Cunninghams’ integrated catering solutions can elevate your school meal service.
- Faster lunch service
Create a modern transaction experience tailored to the school’s needs and increase your service speed with our cashless catering innovations. Fusion’s PoS has an average transaction time of just 3 seconds, offers a variety of fast and secure recognition methods, and seamlessly integrates with our efficiency-boosting Self-Serve Kiosk.
- Menu planning with nutritional analysis
Caterers can create multi-week menu cycles and analyse them for cost, nutrients, and dish frequency using Nutmeg, our complete nutritional platform that integrates with Fusion Cashless. Manage menus and reporting in one place, using colour-coded nutritional analyses to identify deviations from the required nutritional standards.
- Modern meal pre-ordering
Meal pre-orders improve catering efficiency and reduce food waste. Our iPayimpact parent impact app (and website) and in-class Smart Board system offer flexible pre-ordering for primary schools. Meanwhile, secondary school students can pre-order meals anytime, anywhere, with our Fusion Online mobile app or website.
- Allergen management and labelling
School caterers can inform and protect students with allergies using intelligent in-built features. Nutmeg ensures compliance with Natasha’s Law, helping to identify allergens in recipes and generating PPDS labels at the click of a button. Meanwhile, Fusion gives allergen alerts at the PoS, providing a second line of defence to safeguard pupils.

Common questions
Can caterers get useful insights into sales trends?
Yes – caterers can get valuable insights from Fusion’s smart reports and customisable dashboards to inform menu changes and reduce waste. Specific information, such as the sales performance of a new menu item among different year groups or the most popular meal deal options, is easily available.
What identity recognition methods can students use at the till?
Fusion offers multiple identity recognition methods to help students access their cashless accounts quickly and securely at the till. Options include fingerprint biometrics, Facial Recognition, ID card, PIN, Digital Wallet, and user lookup.
How do Fusion PoS allergen alerts work?
When a student with a recorded allergy is identified, a notification informs the operator of their restriction/s. This must be acknowledged before the sale can proceed and remains highlighted on-screen throughout the transaction. When configured correctly, Fusion also prevents students from purchasing items containing relevant allergens.
Do pupils who pre-order in the classroom need to go through the till?
No – pre-orders placed in the classroom are automatically billed through parents’ iPayimpact online payment accounts. Caterers receive a report containing all orders, so pupils can simply collect their meals at lunchtime.
Which payment methods do Fusion and iPayimpact support?
Fusion till users can choose from a variety of convenient payment methods, including their cashless account, Chip & Pin, contactless card, Google Pay, Apple Pay or cash.
As a socially inclusive online payment platform, iPayimpact supports many payment methods, including debit and credit cards, Google Pay, Apple Pay and PayPoint.

I definitely think it (Fusion) can help with food wastage. When sales figures come to you, you know what days will be busy based on the menus. Having all the information with us at the right times will help us order and create menus for the students based on the information we’re getting daily.

“Everybody has an Access Control card, which is also their ID card. One of the driving forces behind the school is to create work-ready young people. Having an ID card linked to an automatic access system and cashless catering solution is much more like being in a business than a college.”
