Recognising innovation in education catering
We are pleased to announce that CRB Cunninghams has been shortlisted in the Public Sector Catering Awards 2020 for Innovation, recognising CRBC’s Fusion Online pre-order app, the pre-order platform for pupils, as an innovative development within the catering industry.
The Public Sector Catering Awards will be held on 16th April at the Hilton London Metropole, celebrating individuals, teams, businesses and organisations working within public sector catering.
With award categories ranging from Care Catering and Contract Caterer of the Year to Innovation, amongst a few, the awards highlight remarkable achievements and unique developments that have made a positive impact on the public sector catering industry.
The Innovation Award recognises products or services that have dramatically changed an operator’s catering strategy, such as saving time and money and reducing food wastage.
Pre-ordering innovations in UK schools
Our pre-order platform, Fusion Online, provides a secure and adaptive platform for secondary schools, encouraging pupils to pre-order their preferred meal options in advance, whenever and wherever they are. No longer restricted to the dining hall, pupils can choose their favourite school meals on the go to ensure their order is ready to pick up at lunchtime.
Now used by pupils in hundreds of schools across the UK, the Fusion Online app first went live at Frederick Gough School in Scunthorpe. The app can be downloaded from Google Play or the App Store, providing a simple onboarding process for pupils and receiving positive feedback from staff and pupils.
“We introduced Fusion Online as an extension of what we offered in terms of pre-ordering and provides a further function for which there is a high demand at our school,” said John Curtis, Business Manager at Frederick Gough School. “Modern and reactive, our school is benefiting from new technology as it advances, and that is something that is only going to continue.”
