Building on a productive event in early 2024, our November Customer User Group brought together an inspiring group of cashless catering customers eager to explore our latest product developments, discuss best practices, and collaboratively shape the future of digital solutions in catering and education.
The November 2024 event was an engaging day filled with insights, hands-on demos, and thought-provoking presentations. Here’s a recap of some of the event’s key themes and standout sessions.
Spotlight on innovation and transformation
At the heart of the event was CRB Cunninghams’ commitment to innovation, showcasing how our latest technologies continue to address the evolving needs of schools and catering teams. Steven Trotter, Project Management Lead at Dumfries and Galloway Council, shared the council’s inspiring digital transformation journey with a recent upgrade to our Fusion Cashless catering platform.
Steven highlighted the importance of expanding Free School Meal (FSM) uptake across the council’s schools and introduced an exciting feature of the new Digital Wallet. The Digital Wallet allows students to access their cashless accounts by scanning their cashless pass directly from their digital wallet—an innovative way to make transactions faster, easier, and more inclusive.
iPayimpact Online Payment App launch and Fusion Online updates
Our latest advancements in Fusion Online and the newly launched iPayimpact app were also focal points of the day’s agenda. These updates extend the functionality of our existing platforms and respond directly to user feedback, adding features that enhance usability and adaptability for both managers and end-users. The new iPayimpact app was met with enthusiasm for its improved interface, allowing parents and guardians easier access to manage student meal accounts, make payments, and view transaction history, all from the convenience of their mobile devices.
The power of data
We briefed attendees on the latest developments in data reporting, including our efforts to consolidate reporting tools into one comprehensive platform to offer customers greater clarity and efficiency when handling multiple sites, managing FSM data, and tracking essential metrics. The ability to quickly access and interpret data supports faster decision-making and offers schools invaluable insights into catering operations, meal uptake, and resource allocation.
Interactive demonstrations
An exciting addition to this user group event was our series of interactive demonstration stations where attendees could experience our latest tools firsthand. Highlights included:
- Self-Serve Kiosks - offering students a quick, intuitive way to select and pay for meals. This solution reduces wait times and enhances the dining experience in school environments.
- Kitchen Compliance Module - a brand-new feature designed to streamline compliance with kitchen safety and health standards, simplifying record-keeping and reducing administrative tasks.
- Digital Wallet - an easy-to-use feature allowing students to access their accounts with a simple scan, making payments seamless and secure.
Each station provided an in-depth look at how our products can enhance day-to-day operations.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who joined us and contributed to the success of this event. We were delighted to see the positive response and hear feedback that will help us continue evolving our products. One attendee shared, “Great day with lots of great ideas” - and we couldn’t agree more.
