We are thrilled to announce that CRB Cunninghams has been awarded the contract for Swansea Council’s cashless catering, pre-ordering and online payment systems across all 91 schools. The rollout will encompass 77 primary schools, 12 secondary schools, and 2 SEN schools, offering tailored software solutions to meet each school’s unique requirements.
As part of the tender, Swansea Council selected CRB Cunninghams to provide its cutting-edge software to many schools in the region. This exciting partnership will go live in September 2023, coinciding with the start of the new academic year. From this date, pupils, parents, and staff will benefit from the convenience and security of CRB Cunninghams' advanced cashless solutions.
Implementing Fusion Cashless in Swansea secondary schools
Due to go live in September 2023, we’re excited to implement Fusion Cashless, iPayimpact online payments and the award-winning Fusion Online pre-order meal app within Swansea secondary schools, enabling school staff, pupils and parents to benefit from an integrated cashless catering solution.
By introducing Fusion Cashless and Fusion Online to its 12 secondary schools, the Council will take a significant step in modernising its current school meal service by providing pupils with a seamless grab-and-go lunch experience.
Hosted within Fusion Cashless, Fusion Online will offer Swansea secondary school pupils a simple way to pre-order their favourite school meals directly from their mobile phones or via an online browser for a seamless grab-and-go lunch experience.
The app seamlessly connects to the Council’s Fusion Cashless system, with pre-ordered meals instantly reflected in the pupils’ live cashless account, and the live balance is available for pupils to check anytime, anywhere.
Whilst the app provides pupils with a simple way to order school meals and save time queueing for their lunches, the school catering staff will also reap the benefits of this innovative ordering solution from reduced food wastage by preparing food according to orders placed whilst accessing valuable insights into meal ordering trends to help improve stock control.
Also hosted within Fusion Cashless is the iPayimpact online payment system, which Swansea secondary schools will use to enable parents and guardians to pay for all school purchases, including school dinners, trips, events, tickets, and shop items. Swansea parents can securely pay for their children across multiple schools through an FCA-regulated payment gateway, offering enhanced security and peace of mind when making payments.
Centralised reporting across all Swansea schools
Additionally, Council schools will be equipped with CRB Cunningham’s centralised Fusion and Data Factory tools, offering Council staff a high-level solution to accessing and producing detailed reports and dashboards across all schools in the district in one central location. From pre-order app registrations to free school meal usage, the Data Factory will provide Swansea Council staff with a centralised approach to reporting, ensuring smooth coordination, all-in-one data management, and seamless oversight across the entire school district.

Combining online payments, meal pre-ordering and parent-school communications, Swansea Council’s 77 primary schools will go live with iPayimpact in September 2023. With flexible ordering available within the platform, parents and pupils from Swansea primary schools can pre-order meals from home or in the classroom.
The iPayimpact suite for primary schools includes classroom pre-ordering, the Communications module, and PayPoint functionalities. This all-in-one solution will streamline payment processes, offer responsive communications with parents, and provide a secure platform for financial transactions.
