About the Author
David Swanston, Managing director of CRB Cunninghams, outlines the
steps we have taken to support schools during lockdown and help schools safely re-open.
Like all school leaders across the UK, we have pondered how schools will return safely after the lockdown period. We have reviewed some great ideas on service delivery from school leaders and catering suppliers, all of which are designed to work within social distancing guidelines and ensure the safeguarding of staff, pupils, and visitors.
We have been listening, added our twists to the concepts, and deployed our substantial R&D resources to release innovative cashless and contactless solutions as quickly as possible.
The rest of our staff are working hard on the logistics to ensure we get these innovations to your school as efficiently as possible whilst maintaining the reliability we have known for since 1966.
At the beginning of lockdown, I said that CRB Cunninghams would do everything we could to help the Education sector through this challenging time, and I am delighted to share with you just some of the provisions we have put in place to support schools across the UK.
How we can help you
We have made our pre-order app, Fusion Online, available to all secondary schools, enabling students across the UK to simply pre-order school meals, collect, and go. This contactless solution helps secondary schools facilitate a 'Grab & Go' offering that will allow your school kitchen to run efficiently and safely.
Fusion Online is easily activated within your cashless system for a seamlessly integrated solution that enables your school to cater to large volumes without compromising on speed of service.
We are busy enhancing our online payment platform, iPayimpact, to incorporate a modern design and customer resources that will be made available to you in the coming months. iPayimpact is packed with features to manage all school income, reduce physical cash handling, and integrate seamlessly with our cashless systems.
The secure hosted solution utilises a payment gateway that is certified at Level 1, the highest level of certification under the PCI and is FCA accredited. Additionally, there are no setup fees, licence fees, or charges per pupil to use the software.
Looking ahead
More exciting developments are taking place at CRB Cunninghams that will enable schools to face the ever-changing needs of the school canteen. I am looking forward to sharing the details with you in the coming months; meanwhile, stay tuned for updates by signing up to our mailing list.

Finally, I’d like to thank our customers for their ongoing loyalty and support. We’ve supported many of our clients for many years, and I know that we can get through this by working together.
